There’s something magical about fall fairs. The vibrant colors, the aroma of fried food, the cheerful sounds of games and rides — it all creates an atmosphere brimming with nostalgia and joy. Every time I attend the Ephrata Fair, I find myself dreaming of capturing moments amidst this kaleidoscope of memories. This year, that dream finally became a reality thanks to the Ephrata Fair Committee, who graciously granted me permission to take photos during the fair.
When I announced the opportunity to my followers, I didn’t have much notice, and there were no immediate takers. But I had one family in mind from the moment I shared the news. It felt as though the stars aligned when I reached out to the Brendles, and it turned out that the only night they were free from their busy sports schedule was perfect for the session. What made this even more special was their deep connection to the Ephrata Fair.
Jackie and Kevin’s story began at the fair during their senior year of high school in 2004. They met through mutual friends in front of the candy apple cart, where Jackie ordered a candy apple, and Kevin helped get it started for her. Four years later, Kevin proposed to Jackie at the same fair. Their love story continued to flourish in Ephrata, where they bought their first home, got married, and started their family.
For their session, we revisited those meaningful spots. We captured photos in front of the candy apple cart, where their journey began, and near the area where Kevin proposed.
Spending the evening with this wonderful family was not just heartwarming but also a true celebration of their story. Their connection to the Ephrata Fair made this session incredibly meaningful and unique. As we walked through the fairgrounds, laughter and memories intertwined, creating images filled with love and joy.
