I was so excited to offer these again at the Wildflower Lookout. The interest was so high that we had to add on a second day! I'm so thankful to all of my sweet clients who booked and shared.
I was really sweating these sessions.
My first year offering wildflower minis, I went with my friends and my daughter to take promo shots and it was terribly hot and humid. We were all sweating so much and I wasn't sure if I could handle photographing 2 hours in that weather. Then, on the day of my sessions, it rained! It had been drizzling off and on for the whole day, the ground was muddy, and it was not ideal but we photographed through the dry spells and got some great photos.
Last year something happened to the field and I had to quickly find a new location for my clients. After a ton of driving and location scouting, I found a new location and got everyone redirected. The week of the sessions we found out that my daughter had caught the vid and had to reschedule even more people. (Fast forward a couple months later she had another positive test and we found out she didn't actually have it over summer, I had read the results wrong. Face palm.)
This time I was watching the weather report constantly and praying for no complications. In the days leading up to our session date, we experienced serious drought conditions, hazardous air quality from the Canadian wildfires, and a sizeable hail storm. I wasn't sure what the field would look like when I arrived. I kept a close eye on the Wildflower Lookout's bloom updates on social media and was hopeful that we'd have a beautiful setting.
Well, I'm here to say - we could not have had more perfect weather this year! It was warm and sunny with beautiful clouds, a slight breeze, and no humidity. Hallelujah! The flowers looked stunning and the sunsets were beautiful and the clients were dressed beautifully!
The photos we captured at the wildflower field this June are some of my all time favorites! I was blessed to serve 12 families; some repeat clients, some old friends, and some brand new faces, we even had a quick celebration of life for a sweet 13 year old pup who was terminal with cancer. I'm forever grateful when you choose me to photograph your life and capture your precious memories! It's an honor to be a small part of your stories.
Anyway - you're probably just here to see the photos. So here are some of my favorites. I hope you love them as much as I do (which is A LOT).
